Neilston set up a West of Scotland Football League Cup quarter-final clash with Clydebank after defeating Rossvale in an epic penalty shootout on Saturday.
Dylan Fletcher put the home side ahead at the Brig O’Lea with a glancing header just before the break but the game turned in the 69th minute when Olly Smith was sent off for The Farmer’s Boys and Rossvale were awarded a penalty.
Fraser Malcolm’s spot-kick was saved by Grant Hay but he reacted quickest to fire in the rebound.
With no more goals before full-time, penalties were needed to decide the tie and it was Neilston who eventually made it through as they won the shootout 12-11.
This Saturday, they take on promotion-chasing St Cadoc’s at New Tinto Park, with kick-off at 2pm.
