Arthurlie suffered their first league loss since September with a narrow 1-0 defeat at Cumnock Juniors on Saturday.

Graham Boyd netted the only goal of the afternoon for the Ayrshire side at Townhead Park as ‘Lie’s four-game winning run in the league came to an end.

There were chances for Craig Palmer’s side throughout the afternoon, the pick of the opportunities falling to Aaron Healy, who ghosted in from the left but curled just wide of the far corner, and Gary Smith whose free-kick battered off the crossbar.

In the closing stages, Dale Simeon found himself in a promising position but looked to be caught in two minds as his final ball didn’t look either destined for the net or close to finding a teammate.

Next up for the Dunterlie Park side is a trip to Hannah Park to take on Shotts Bon Accord in the fourth round of the Scottish Junior Cup.

Kick-off is at 1.45pm on Saturday.
