Hamilton Accies youngster Jamie Hamilton has travelled south to join English Premier League side Brighton on a three-day training stint.

Hamilton burst onto the scene in the Scottish Premiership this season and has played 14 times including starts against both Celtic and Rangers.

Although not keen on allowing the talented 17-year-old leaving permanently any time soon, Accies confirmed they had allowed the teen to make the trip for the experience - and former Hamilton boss Billy Reid played a pivotal role.

The club statement read: "The club can confirm Jamie Hamilton has travelled to English Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion, where he will spend three days at their training centre.

"This isn’t something the club would normally agree to, however, given our close connection with previous manager Billy Reid, we’re happy for Brighton to see Jamie in their own environment.

"Jamie will return to Hamilton on Thursday in preparation of our visit to Ibrox on Wednesday 4th March."
