He said: “Unfortunately the result wasn’t what we wanted. Hopefully now we can get some points and I can get some more goals.

“We watched the video back on Monday (of the Ross County match) and tried to see the mistakes we made. It’s important not to have a week off. We want to get straight back to it and get some points, otherwise it’s hard to think about the losses.

“It’s a good to be back to business and Hamilton is a game that we have to win.”

The 31-year-old climbed off the bench to level for Jim Goodwin’s with a deflected free-kick and while he says it’s important to make an good impression as a sub, he’s hopeful that his performance has forced his way into the starting XI.

He added: “When you come off the bench you want to make a good impression. It’s so important to try and add something new to the game.

“Whether I start or not is the gaffer’s choice, we will wait and see. The most important thing is to do all you can do on the pitch.”
