Glasgow Clan returned home at the weekend with a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Fife Flyers.

Pete Russell’s side, who had been on the road for six weeks, were welcomed by a packed Braehead crowd.

As ever between the Clan and the Flyers, it was full of excitement and chances.

Shane Owen in the Fife goal was kept busy early on as chances from Vaclav Stupka and Scott Pitt kept him on his toes.

Clan got the opening goal when Gerard Hanson finished off from in front of the crease.

And Russell’s men doubled their lead when Josh Gratton finished from the follow-up after Craig Peacock’s chance was blocked.

Fife ensured it was a nervy end with a late effort, but the Clan held on for victory in the end.

Russell’s side made it back-to-back wins with a 4-2 road win at Sheffield Steelers on Saturday.

A Pitt double and efforts from Peacock and Scott Tanksi secured the vital points.

But Clan couldn’t quite make it three from three as they went down 6-2 against Manchester Storm on Sunday evening.
