Barrhead martial arts club I-Kick Martial Arts had another successful weekend up in Abroath at the WUMA Scottish Open Kickboxing Championships.

Liam put in a great performance in his divisions to win both a silver and bronze medal after many rounds of fights.

Darragh was successful in taking home a gold and bronze from his divisions.

Coach Ross Penman said: “Darragh was very dominant and showed great confidence as he performed. I was really impressed with his efforts yesterday.”

For Gary, it was his first tournament. He had two really tough fights against bigger and more experienced opponents. Gary battled hard in both fights but was unfortunate not to get the decisions.

Penman added: “He shows great signs for the future though and I was very happy.”

Ross also competed himself, first defeating a World Kickboxing champion in the continuous sparring division to take gold, and in the other division to take a bronze, losing out by one point.

He said: “We all had some hard fights against experienced opponents.

“Overall, team I-Kick were really good at the weekend and made a few heads turn as we did our thing.”
