Chris Walker says that it’s going to take a bit of time for Arthurlie to get going, but is optimistic for the season ahead at his new club writes Jack Crawford.

6’5 giant Walker is one of 15 new signings after joining from fellow Super Division side Pollok.

The defender admits that a completely new squad won’t just start gelling together overnight.

He said: “There’s a new manager, new coaching staff as well as the 15 new faces. The club has been overhauled so it will take time, but we’re getting there.

“We’re improving each week and each time we train it’s more time together. It’s been really enjoyable and hopefully the results will pick up.”

Arthurlie started their league campaign with a 1-1 draw at Girvan before Saturday’s 4-3 win over Kirkintilloch Rob Roy, and Walker says that it’s too early to have any targets set in stone.

He said:“It’s been a bit of an up and down start to the season.

“We have had some not so great results but it’s not really about results at this time of year. We’ll be delighted just to get a few more victories.

“There’s not really any targets yet. We’ll just take it week by week and get as many points on the board as we can. I think we’ll do pretty well.”
