Barrhead’s United Reformed Church welcomed scores of supporters to a fundraising event on Saturday.

The coffee morning – part of regular fundraising activities throughout the year – was enjoyed by people from a number of local churches.

It saw visitors of all ages stop by the Aurs Drive venue to sample some hot food, home baking and refreshments and put their hand in their pocket in support of the church.

As well as enjoying bacon rolls, pancakes, scones, cakes, tea and coffee, visitors tried their luck at the raffle and bottle stall.

More than £300 was raised on the day, which will go towards the upkeep of the church building itself.

Church treasurer Helen Kavanagh said: “It’s a nice, relaxing social event and a great chance for people from various churches to get together. We’d like to thank everyone who came along.”

The congregation at the United Reformed Church meet every Sunday at 11.30am and all are welcome to attend.
