Grammys 2022 might still be months away but today marks the last day of eligibility for next year's nominees.

The 64th annual awards show will recognise artists, songs and albums during a 13 month eligibility period from September 1 2020 to September 30 2021.

Next year's show will take place on Monday January 31 2022 having undergone a makeover by the showrunners.

In April, the Recording Company announced two new categories including Best Global Music Performance and Best Música Urbana Album along with some other significant changes.

We'll see the end of nomination review committees and less vote-in categories as part of the Grammy's strategy to become more transparent.

There will now be a total of 86 categories but like every year, all eyes will be on the Big Four: album, record and song of the year and best new artist.

Nominations for next year will be announced at the end of next month.

In a tweet, the Recording Company said:" Save the date!

"Nominations for the 2022 #Grammys show, officially know as the 64th Grammy awards will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021."

The first round of voting will begin from October 22 before the nominees are announced on November 23.

There is a final round of voting that lasts around a month before the winners are announced at the televised ceremony on January 31.

Although the Grammys might feel miles away, people are already speculating who next year's big winners might be.
