Celebrations have taken place across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) to mark the 75th anniversary of the UK's publicly-funded health service.
Dedicated NHS staff were honoured during the events on Wednesday, July 5 for providing healthcare to patients and communities across the region, which includes Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire and West Dunbartonshire.
As the largest health board in Scotland, NHSGGC serves a population of more than 1.2 million people and encompasses an extensive range of hospitals and healthcare facilities.
Jane Grant, chief executive of NHSGGC, said: "This is a remarkable achievement for the NHS in Scotland and the wider UK, and it gives us an opportunity to reflect on the major contribution the NHS makes to all our lives.
"The NHS has delivered almost an immeasurable number of babies, treated millions of patients, cared for loved ones at the end of their lives and we have also supported a countless number of family members and friends through their loved ones’ health care journey.
"This takes a huge amount of commitment, compassion and care, which our staff embody every day.
"It is a milestone that deserves to be recognised and signifies the unwavering dedication from our staff in providing and exceptional standard of healthcare to the people of Glasgow and the surrounding areas."
