UPDATE: Footaslyum has been in contact and confirmed that the originally stated opening date of March 12 is incorrect, and that the actual opening date will be Thursday, March 19.
Footasylum has announced the opening date of its new Glasgow Silverburn store, after its previous branch at the shopping centre closed following a shoplifting scandal.
The footwear and sportswear retailer will launch its latest branch in the Southside shopping centre on March 19, further expanding its presence in the city.
The 10,305 sq ft store marks Footasylum’s return to the popular retail destination and reinforces its growing footprint in Glasgow.
We have previously reported that a sign appeared at the site where the retailer is set to open on February 1.

Shannon Osman, head of retail at Footasylum, said: “Glasgow has always delivered for us, and returning to Silverburn was a clear priority.
“This new store brings us back stronger in a location that reflects the ambition of the brand.
“As we expand across the UK and internationally, investing in high-performing destinations like Silverburn remains central to our growth.
“We look forward to welcoming both new and returning customers to our new state-of-the-art store.”
Footasylum already operates stores across the city, including locations on Argyle Street, at Fort Shopping Park and in Braehead.
The company said the new Silverburn store is “building on the strong performance of its former Silverburn store” and supports its wider UK store rollout strategy.
Silverburn, home to more than 100 stores and 25 restaurants, has been described by Footasylum as a “significant growth opportunity”.
The retailer cited the centre’s “strong mix of fashion brands and continued investment in guest experience” as key factors in its decision to return.
