A motion has been presented to Barrhead Housing Association to celebrate the delivery of a new play park.
Scottish Labour MSP Paul O’Kane submitted the motion to congratulate the association for its role in developing and delivering the newly opened play park on Newton Avenue in Auchenback.
The park was created in consultation with the local community.
The MSP visited Barrhead Housing’s offices where he met with CEO Lorna Wilson, director of assets and communities Scott Stewart, and community investment manager Bryan Dando.
He presented the team with a framed copy of the parliamentary motion.
Mr O’Kane said: "I was delighted when I heard that Barrhead Housing Association and East Renfrewshire Council had worked together to deliver a fantastic new park for young children in Auchenback – partnership is key and I am glad to see it flourishing.
"The work on the playpark is a brilliant example of people having a genuine input about the facilities in their local area and that’s what we should be seeing more of.
"I was pleased to highlight this in Parliament and I hope that everyone in Auchenback gets many hours of enjoyment out of the new playpark."
