Speed restrictions have been put in place by Network Rail Scotland on trains running between Glasgow Central and Neilston.

This is due to heavier than expected rainfall with trains being slowed down on parts of this route and also on Glasgow Central to Edinburgh via Shotts and Aberdeen to Inverness services.

A spokesperson for Network Rail said on social media: "It’ll mean journey times will be extended.

"We’re continuing to monitor the forecast and the actual rainfall out there.

"Thanks for your understanding if you’re affected."
