New figures for Scotland’s housing market reveal that 608 homes were completed in East Renfrewshire in 2022/23.
This follows new analysis showing a positive year for housing completions in Scotland, with figures indicating that last year saw the highest number of completions since the housing crash in 2007/08.
Tom Arthur, SNP MSP for Renfrewshire South, said: "Housing supply is a key issue in Renfrewshire South and it is essential we continue to increase the number of good affordable homes available in the market.
“Analysis shows that 24,368 homes were completed in 2022/23, including 608 in East Renfrewshire, a welcome figure that continues to increase year on year.
“The SNP-led Government will continue to take action, including committing over £550 million to the affordable housing supply programme this year, to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to live in a safe and comfortable home.”
The Scottish Government's figures indicate that 24,368 new homes were supplied in 2022/23, marking a 10 per cent increase on the previous year.
Of these, 98 per cent were new builds.
Other statistics include a 12 per cent increase in private sector completions, equalling 16,840 homes and a six per cent rise in social housing completions (6,958 homes).
Affordable homes also increased by seven per cent to 10,462 homes.
Mr Arthur said a further £556 million has been given to the Affordable Housing Supply Programme in 2024/25.
