More than kilometre of major road to shut for TWO WEEKS
More than a kilometre of a major road in East Renfrewshire is to shut for two weeks next month.
The A77 Ayr Road close to Newton Mearns will be closed from its junction with Mearns Road northbound for a distance of “approximately 1.3km or thereby” while carriageway resurfacing works are carried out on or near the road.
The anticipated dates of the closure are from Monday, April 15 until Friday, April 26.
All vehicles will be subject to the restriction except those associated with the works or emergency service vehicles attending an incident.
The alternative route for drivers during this time will be Mearns Road to Eaglesham Road and the A77 Ayr Road and vice versa.
