A major chain in Silverburn Shopping centre will close after 16 years.

PURE’s spa announced that its last day of trading at the venue will be February 29.

Founder Becky Lumsden said: “It is with a heavy heart that we are leaving Silverburn. We have served over 40,000 clients and performed circa 250,000 treatments since opening the business when the Silverburn centre opened in 2007.

"We have maintained near five-star feedback from our clients throughout this time.

“Unfortunately, it has become very challenging for retail centres to be viable locations for businesses such as PURE.

"For this reason, we are pivoting our business away from retail centres for the time being."

She added: “All gift cards, vouchers, courses, and memberships our Silverburn clients may be holding can be used at any of our Glasgow locations or indeed any of our 23 locations around the UK.

"The Silverburn team are all looking forward to seeing you in the next eight weeks at Silverburn and thereafter at the new spa locations.”

Employees will continue working at the David Lloyd Club in Renfrew, Hamilton and other locations of the company, including Glasgow's West Nile Street, The Glasgow Hilton.

The chain plans to open two new London locations in February and six new spots in 2024.
