Pupils have been busy checking out their new campus as East Renfrewshire Council (ERC) issues an update on the expected move-in date.

Children from Neilston Primary, Madras Family Centre and St Thomas’ Primary headed over to the brand-new building recently.

The state-of-the-art facility will bring the three establishments together on one shared site.

A spokesperson for ERC said: “Excited children were delighted to see the progress at their fabulous new campus recently.

“Plans are being made for the new facility to open between March and April and everyone is looking forward to this new chapter.”

Legacy events were held by both schools and the nursery yesterday (Wednesday, December 20) to reminisce about times in their current buildings ahead of the big move.

Work got underway on the project in June 2022, with the campus initially scheduled to open in August of this year.

The new hub has been built on ground within the site of the current Neilston Primary, allowing the existing school to continue running during construction.

Once the new school and nursery facility is completed, the current Neilston Primary and Madras Family Centre will be demolished to make way for an all-weather football pitch and multi-use games area.
