Include Me 2 Club (IM2C) has soft launched the first of two new Social Blend coffee shops in partnership with East Renfrewshire’s Health and Social Care Partnership.

Earlier this week marked the first day of the café at Eastwood Health and Care Centre following a quick refurbishment of the space, which included a fresh look and new equipment being installed.

Barrhead News:

The new café at the Eastwood centre will serve locally sourced produce from Thomsons Coffee, which is roasted just a couple of miles away in Giffnock.

It will also offer soups, sandwiches, paninis wraps and cakes from I love Cake in Thornliebank.

The development comes after the Barrhead charity won a public contract to provide café services to the Eastwood centre and Barrhead Health and Care Centre.

Barrhead News:

The contract for the provision of the community cafes includes the provision of an Employability Training Programme for Adults with Additional Support Needs.

The venture therefore furthers both IM2C and Social Blend’s charitable purpose and mission, joining established social blend cafes at the hub at the James McGuire building and Cowan Park, and supporting adults with a range of additional support needs, disabilities and mental health barriers to accessing training, employment experiences.

Furthermore, every penny after costs will be reinvested back into local communities, supporting vital services for children, young people and adults with ASNs, disabilities and barriers in their lives.
