Two Christmas concerts will be held in East Renfrewshire next month to raise funds for a good cause.

The event, organised by Stagecoach Performing Arts, will take place place at Broom Parish Church, in Newton Mearns, on Friday, December 1, and Saturday, December 2.

The Spirit of Christmas concerts will be full of festive songs performed by students of Stagecoach Glasgow.

The event has been organised to help raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK, which is the leading charity for over 60 muscle wasting and weakening conditions.

Gordon Smith, ex-professional footballer and ambassador for the charity, will be singing with the children at the show on Saturday.

Barrhead News:

Jodie Whitham, Muscular Dystrophy UK's regional development manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland, said: "The Spirit of Christmas always feels like the start of the festive season.

"What a wonderful way to get into the Christmas spirit, with a night of uplifting music, in such beautiful surroundings.

"It's truly joyful, with so many people giving their time to help us raise awareness and vital funds for people living with muscle wasting and weakening conditions.
"Make sure you don’t miss out on these magical nights!"

Both shows will start at 6pm and will be available to purchase on the door on each of the evenings.

Admission costs £10 (standard) and £5 (concessions), while entry for a family of two adults and two children is £25.
