BARRHEAD's Hallowe'en parade witnessed an "incredible turnout", according to its organisers.

It comes after All About Barrhead revealed the event on Saturday, October 28, was attended by 600 participants and 3,000 spectators.

The parade was also sponsored by McDonald's this year, who contributed £800 to support the event, which was then distributed to the three top groups that captured the essence of Halloween in the most creative ways.

St Mark's Primary School received £500 for their "captivating ensemble of zombie school children", Le Dance Studio was handed £200 for their large group of witches, ghouls, and zombies, and In Cahootz was given £100.

Andy Dunlop, BID Manager, said: "The Big Barrhead Hallowe'en Parade was a resounding success, and the support from McDonald's played a crucial role in making it happen.

"It was heartwarming to see our community come together in celebration, and we couldn't be prouder of the participants, spectators, and local businesses who make Barrhead the amazing town that it is."

Lee MacLeod, Franchisee Supervisor at Barrhead McDonald’s, added: “Community is at the heart of everything we do so it was fantastic to be part of the Big Barrhead Hallowe’en Parade this year.

"It’s clear we have a lot of talent here in Barrhead based on the outstanding creativity that went into costumes.

"Congratulations to all the deserving winners and we look forward to continuing to support other community initiatives going forward.
