A bus firm has axed evening services two nights in a row after 'attacks'.

McGill's made the decision to no longer run the 3 and 51 buses to the Auchenback area of Barrhead after 5pm due to 'attacks' on their vehicles.

They added that the measure was to 'keep everyone safe'.

They shared the updates on Twitter/X effective on both October 27 and 28.

When asked if this would be a permanent change, the firm said they would keep customers posted each evening on the status of the services.

It comes after we reported that First Glasgow threatened to withdraw evening services 3, 10, 57 and X8 after experiencing a wave of arson attacks on buses.

This move came after a double-decker bus was set alight near Silverburn resulting in the driver forcing an evacuation of the vehicle.

While there were no injuries, the double-decker was badly damaged, and First said it was the latest in a 'cluster' of incidents.
