Another successful joint art exhibition and sale has been held by Barrhead Artists (BA) and Levern Camera Club (LCC).

The event was held on October 21 at St Andrew’s Church Hall in the town’s Main Street, with a preview evening for family and friends the night before.

Emily Carr, who is the treasurer of BA which was founded in 1932, told the Barrhead News: “It went really well, we sold a good number and we are really happy.

“Our members are allowed to do whatever medium they like, so we have quite a good variety at our exhibitions."

Barrhead News:

“Every one of our exhibiting artists sold at least one painting, which was wonderful and I love that because it means everyone got something out of it,” she added.

The LCC first joined BA in their annual exhibition in 2019 and together the clubs have now held three joint exhibitions.

The events have proved popular with both sets of club members and increasingly with the general public.

“The feedback from those who came along was positive and the comments we received on our members’ photography was very supportive,” explained Jim Clark, the secretary of LCC.

“This year LCC exhibited 35 prints and a further 50 images in a digital display covering a wide range of themes."

“In addition we set up a printer where the public could watch images being printed," he added.

“We were very happy with the sales of our work, where we sold approximately 30% of the prints on display.

“All profits from the exhibition go to boost our club funds, which help to support several areas such as photography day trips away, working with experienced models and the day to day running of the club.”
