A LOCAL home care company is calling for local businesses to get involved in its annual "Be a Santa" gift campaign.

The campaign, which is run by Home Instead Renfrewshire and Barrhead (HIRB) aims to "bring a smile" to the faces of ageing adults at Christmas time.

As part of it, the firm is asking other local companies to have a collection point at their workspace where the public can donate gifts.

The presents will then be wrapped by the team at HIRB, which is partnering with St Mirren FC Charitable Foundation, who will then hand the gifts out on Christmas day along with a Christmas dinner.

Owner of HIRB Paul Armstrong said: “At Home Instead we understand that the Christmas period can be a challenging time for many older people, especially those who may be alone.

“Through ‘Be a Santa’ we hope to bring comfort and joy to their lives, reminding them that they are cherished members of our community. Please get in touch if you would like to get involved!”
