1. Barrhead primary schools raised vital funds for a national charity at a football tournament. Youngsters went head to head at St John’s Primary as they competed for the St John’s Trophy.
2. A host of swimmers from Barrhead, Neilston and surrounding areas took part in the 19th Inverclyde Masters swim.
3. East Renfrewshire teenager Louise Hughes was handpicked by the Scottish Government and Young Scot to be a youth commissioner for smoking prevention.
4. Arthurlie progressed into the second round of the Scottish Junior Cup after a straight-forward 3-0 victory over Bridge of Don Thistle at Dunterlie Park.
5. Ruth Sweeney shared her inspiring story of becoming a mentor to other young mums-to-be, becoming a first aid trainer, volunteering and running a mum and baby group in Barrhead. She was cited as an example of a young person who is a leader in her peer group and asked by the Scottish Government to tell her story at a national Early Years conference.
6. Neilston returned to winning ways as they overcame Second Division outfit Port Glasgow in the Scottish Cup.
