Community growing project Incredible Edible Neilston is hosting exciting sessions for residents to get involved in this weekend.

On Saturday at 11am Amy from Movement in Thyme, a non-profit organisation promoting community herbalism, will be at the community herbal garden in the village running a session painting up the planters.

This will let people know what's growing in them.

The garden is located behind the main planter on Kirkstyle Lane.

In an apothecary session at 2pm, meanwhile, those taking part will get the opportunity to create a softening hand salve with violets, calendula, chickweed and marshmallow.

Participants will also prepare an infused honey, which could be incorporated into the group’s October session making cough syrups.

Speaking about the second session, Cat Train from IEN told the Barrhead News: “We'll be in Blether Neilston (which is currently Totnosh at 103 Main Street) - despite nice weather (finally).

“It's so much better having lots of table space and equipment.”

“Both sessions are free and open to everyone and there’s no need to book,” she added.
