A MAN has been arrested in Barrhead after cops conducted a welfare check at a property.

It comes after officers visited a domestic abuse victim on Sunday, September 3, to conduct a check and explain bail conditions.

During the visit, police searched the property and the accused in the case was found within.

He was immediately arrested.

Now, the force has said protecting domestic abuse victims is a top priority.

 

 

A spokesperson for East Renfrewshire Police said: "Protecting victims of domestic abuse is one of our top priorities.

"Whilst conducting a welfare check and explaining bail conditions to a victim in Barrhead on Sunday, September 3, the officers searched the property.

"The accused in the case was found within. He was immediately arrested."
