Police are probing a vicious street attack on a man in Barrhead at the weekend.
The 56-year-old victim was found lying in the town's Craighead Way on Saturday night.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, in Glasgow, for treatment.
A police spokesperson said: "Around 6.50pm, officers were called to a report of a man having been injured during a disturbance in Craighead Way, Barrhead.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
The victim has not been named by police and no details about his injuries have been released.
Anyone who has information that can help the police with their investigation is asked to call officers on 101, quoting incident number 3210 of August 5.
