Emergency services rushed to an East Renfrewshire school last night after a blaze broke out.
Police and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were called to the incident in the grounds of Maidenhill Primary, in Newton Mearns.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “We were made aware of a shed on fire in the grounds of a school at Maidenhead Grove in Newton Mearns shortly after 8.55pm on Wednesday, July 19.
“The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fire and no-one was injured.
“It is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: “We were alerted at 8.31pm on Wednesday, July 19, to reports of a building on fire at Maidenhill Grove, Newton Mearns.
“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances and a height vehicle and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a school outbuilding.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
East Renfrewshire Council have been contacted for comment.
