1. Around 100 budding footballers were in action at Dunterlie Park as Arthurlie Juniors held a family fun day. Four teams took to the park and, with hundreds watching on, Arthurlie 1998s won 3-1 against local rivals Johnstone Burgh.

2. THE sun shone on Millview care home’s annual summer fete. At the height of a summer heatwave, family and friends of residents from all over the town descended on the Carlibar Road home.

3. Youngsters bounced to their hearts content as they took part in a trampolining club at Barrhead Sports Centre. Around 15 children worked on their skills under the watchful eye of top coaches during the school holidays.

4. Pupils from Carlibar Primary School teamed up with a local opticians to give the gift of sight to people. As part of Specsavers' national appeal for support charity Vision Aid Overseas (VAO), youngsters visited the Barrhead branch and donated their old and unwanted glasses.

5. In the last leg of our primary school cricket tour, we visited Carlibar Primary, where more than 25 youngsters took to the pitch to work on their batting, bowling and fielding.

6. New Arthurlie signing Jamie Lyden marked his arrival at the club with a goal in his debut against Partick Thistle.Barrhead News:
