SILVERBURN has announced it has raised over £6,000 for Glasgow charities in the first half of this year.
The fundraising, which has been facilitated through the shopping centre’s corporate, social responsibility scheme, Silverburn Cares, has supported good causes including Glasgow Children’s Hospital, SWAMP, and Beatson.
As part of the scheme, the leisure centre has handed over retail space to charities and organisations to help them raise cash.
On top of that, they have also donated an additional £3,000 worth of vouchers to support local community groups and organisations.
The initiative aims to give back to the local community.
Katherine McGinness, Environmental and Community Coordinator at Silverburn Cares said: “This year we have had the pleasure of inviting a vibrant mix of community groups and charities through our doors – undertaking a variety of inspiring and vital missions that support the local community to thrive.
“It has been amazing to see staff throughout the centre engage with the scheme by volunteering to create our new Eco Hub and engaging with the local colleges and groups.
“Every single person at Silverburn plays an important role in uplifting the Pollok community.
“We have an exciting calendar of events planned for the remainder of 2023 that we are sure will make this a bumper year for fundraising at Silverburn. Keep your eyes peeled for some adrenaline-fuelled activities in the coming months!”
