1. Barrhead nursery pupil Laurie Salmond beat 5,000 entries to feature in the See Us book while representing Arthurlie Family Centre. He was snapped with Secretary for Education Michael Russell at the high-profile event which showcased the work of top Scottish artist George Wylie.

2. Ken Macintosh MSP and Jim Murphy MP met with volunteers and service users at local charity Cosgrove Care.

3. Primary pupils from St Mark’s showed their creative side as they held an art exhibition for their peers and parents.

4. Around 50 pupils from Springhill and Auchenback Primary were bowled over as they took to the crease to learn the skills of bowling, batting and fielding while playing Kwik Cricket during their PE lessons.

5. Neilston’s pre-season got off to a winning start with a comfortable victory over Rossvale. Manager Andy Whiteford gave new signing Chris Seenan his debut and had the chance to see a number of trialists in action.

6. Arthurlie made it four-in-a-row with a victory against Craigroyston in the JC Allan Challenge Cup as silverware returned to Dunterlie Park. With manager Gavin Duncan taking charge of the team for the first time in the annual match against the East of Scotland side, the impressive result gave him many reasons to be pleased.
