An East Renfrewshire venue has announced its official golden anniversary pantomime will be Beauty and the Beast.

Taking to Eastwood Park Theatre's stage for a third-year running will be leading professional production company Spillers Pantomimes.

The company's run of Peter Pan in 2021 was a resounding success as was last year's production of The Wizard of Oz.

Anthony McReavy, chief executive of East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure, said: "We're very excited that Spillers Pantomimes will return to Eastwood Park Theatre to mark our 50th anniversary with the tale as old as time, Beauty and the Beast.

"This is set to be our biggest and best panto production and will round off an incredibly successful golden anniversary year for our theatre.

"Thousands came to sell-out shows last year and we can't wait to welcome audiences to be our guest at our panto, which is packed full of festive fun and surprises."

The theatre will continue its 50th anniversary celebrations with more than sixty show-stopping performances of Beauty and the Beast, from November 24 to December 31.

Hundreds of theatre-goers have already signed up for priority access to the panto, which went on sale this morning, Friday June, 30 at 10am.

Kay Spillers, managing director of Spillers Pantomimes, said: "We can't wait to return to Eastwood Park Theatre for a third year with Beauty and the Beast.

"With stunning scenery, lavish costumes, a super talented cast, memorable songs and laughs galore, it's just what you need for some festive fun."

British Sign Language and relaxed performances will be available.
