1. Barrhead cyclists took to the Springfield Road cycle track to compete in the first event to be held on the surface. The gala cycle took place in warm conditions, however, that didn’t stop 10-year-old duo Elliott Stobie and Lewis Bingham from winning the event.

2. An emotional day at Uplawmoor Primary saw the school bid farewell to senior pupils and a beloved headteacher. Christine Wallace retired after more than 40 years in the classroom of which 22 years were spent at the village primary school.

3. Fun-loving youngsters at Neilston Primary finished off the school term with a non-uniform fun day. Teachers and staff organised dozens of activities for the kids to take part in both outdoors and in the classroom.

4. Robert Storrie’s Boot Camp held its summer challenge at the Glennifer Braes’ Lapwing Lodge and 40 plucky Barrhead girls and boys found themselves more than equal to the challenge.

5. Housing convener councillor Danny Devlin and council leader councillor Jim Fletcher caught up with the local authority’s new ‘hit squad’ while they were on their rounds uplifting discarded rubbish in Barrhead’s Dunterlie.

6. Freestyle dancers from across the UK competed in the Elite Freestyle Championships and 10-year-old Ellie Wilson from Neilston proved she had the measure of the competition as she graded first in both her dances and walked away with two trophies.
