Neilston will hit the road in the first round of the South Challenge Cup after being handed an away tie at Broomhill.

The draw took place on Sunday night, with the Farmer’s Boys facing a trip to the Dumbarton Football Stadium for the tie on August 19.

Neilston manager Kevin Muirhead will be hoping his team can cause an upset against their Lowland League opponents.

If they do, their reward will be a home tie against either Fourth Division outfit Eglinton or Premier Division cracks Irvine Meadow in the second round on September 16.

Arthurlie received a bye in the first round and will host West of Scotland Football League new boys Knightswood at Dunterlie Park in the second round.

Knightswood are the most recent addition to the WoSFL, having been voted in at the AGM earlier this month, and will play in the Fourth Division this season.

Current holders of the South Challenge Cup are Spartans, who defeated Drumchapel United at Broadwood in May to lift the trophy.
