A POPULAR BBC crime drama series was being filmed in Giffnock this week.
It comes after East Renfrewshire Council shared images on social media showing ITV studios crews in the town filming for series eight of Shetland.
We previously reported that Braidholm Crescent from its junction with Braidholm Road up to the access to the parking area associated with number eight Kennedy Court in the town would be closed to allow the filming to take place.
Well-known Scottish actress and narrator Ashley Jensen will star in the new series as DI Ruth Calder when the show returns later this year.
Sharing images on social media, East Renfrewshire Council said: “Lights, Camera, Action!
“There’s been lots of excitement in Giffnock this week as the cameras were rolling for Shetland, Series 8 filming.
“Ashley Jensen will star as DI Ruth Calder when the show returns to our screens later this year.”
