1. Youngsters from Uplawmoor Primary planted trees in a variety of species in the village as part of a national initiative to replant Scotland’s thousands of lost trees.
2. Staff and children of MACS breakfast club at Cross Arthurlie released balloons with messages dedicated to loved ones affected by cancer as part of a fundraising event for Macmillan Cancer nurses.
3. Plans for the new £22million Barrhead HighSchool were gathering pace with the community set to be briefed in the weeks ahead
4. To help deal with combating anti-social behaviour in East Renfrewshire the council equipped its team of community wardens with body-worn cameras.
5. Almost £160,000 worth of repairs got the green light as builders moved in on Barrhead’s struggling scout hall. The Auchenback facility was shut over a year after it was found the 1970s building was dangerously corroded with damp and water leaks.
6. Baguettes, crepes and croissants were on the menu at St Thomas’ Primary as pupils sampled all things French. As part of the schools annual French day, 156 kids dressed up in stripy tops and berets for a day of fun.
