THE Scam Van is set to be in Barrhead tomorrow.

Residents from across the area will be able to visit the van at the Barrhead Health Centre between 12.30pm and 3pm on Tuesday, May 16.

We previously reported that the van aims to raise awareness of various forms of financial harm and empower consumers to challenge anything they don’t think is genuine and to encourage reporting scams.

It will also be visiting Asda at Newton Mearns on the same day from 8am until 10am and then at The Avenue from 10am to 12pm.

The Scam Van is part of the Shut Out Scammers initiative, which Police Scotland is supporting.

A spokesperson for East Renfrewshire Police said: “On Tuesday, May 16, our Shut Out Scammers van will be in Asda Newton Mearns from 8am to 10am.

“From 10am to 12pm, we’ll be at The Avenue.

“From 12.30pm to 3pm we’ll be at Barrhead Health Centre.

“We’ll have valuable advice regarding all kinds of Rogue Traders.

“Hope to see you at our stalls!”
