A superhero event is set to be held at Silverburn this weekend.

Guests who visit the shopping centre over can expect to see a “super display” as the centre hosts its Superhero Weekend.

The event that starts today will run until Monday, May 1, and it will feature a display of replica statues of superheroes, as well as a silver age comic.

Those who attend will also be given the chance to win tickets to the new Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, premiering on May, 5, as part of a partnership with Cineworld, Silverburn.

To be in with a chance of winning tickets, guests will only need to share a photograph of their visit to the superhero statues on Silverburn’s Facebook page.

The event will conclude on Monday with a visit from Glasgow’s Children’s Hospital Charity, which will be hosting a craft station for kids to create their own superhero masks.

David Pierotti, general manager of Silverburn, said: “We’re delighted to bring our Superhero event to Silverburn this weekend and we’re sure the display and competition will be a big hit with our guests.

“However, we all know that not all superheroes wear capes and that’s why we’re proud to host Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity’s mask-making workshop this bank holiday Monday to help raise vital funds for Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children.

“It’s primed to be a great bank holiday weekend here at Silverburn, and we look forward to welcoming guests of all ages.”
