A FIRE in Neilston on Friday evening sparked a response from emergency services.
Firefighters from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) attended a blaze in the village’s Uplawmoor Road area after receiving reports of the incident at 5.36pm.
The service sent out two appliances, where crews extinguished the fire and then made the area safe.
Residents reported that the fire took place in the Lintmill Dam area.
No casualties were reported from the incident.
An SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 5.36pm on Friday, April 21, to reports of a fire in the open on Uplawmoor Road, Neilston.
“Operations control mobilised two fire appliances, where crews extinguished an area of grass alight.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left the scene at 5.59pm after ensuring the area was made safe.”
The cause of the blaze is unknown.
