AN investigation is underway after firearms were discovered in an East Renfrewshire park. 

Cops were called to Rouken Glen Park at around 12.30pm on Friday, April 21, after two firearms were found. 

Police confirmed the weapons were removed from the park and they are understood to have been there for some time. 

Enquiries are ongoing to establish their viability and where they came from. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers have removed two weapons which were found within Rouken Glen Park in Glasgow around 12.30pm on Friday, April 21.

"The items have been there for some time and enquiries are ongoing to establish their viability and origin."
