A FOODBANK in Barrhead is asking residents and local businesses for help as their supplies are running “extremely low.”
East Renfrewshire Foodbank on Lowndes Street took to social media to appeal for donations as they are “giving out quicker” than they can “restock or purchase essential foods".
The good cause is asking for residents to donate, if they can, to help with the issue.
They are looking for UHT milk, fruit juice, sugar, jam, coffee, tea, tinned rice pudding, tinned chopped tomatoes, tinned spaghetti, and tinned vegetables including peas, carrots, sweetcorn, and potatoes.
And they are also looking for donations of toilet rolls and other general toiletries.
A Facebook post from the Foodbank said: “[The] Foodbank is extremely low or out of items below.
“We are giving out quicker than we can restock or purchase essential foods.
“Due to the increase in need, please consider donating.
“If you’re a local business and can donate a tray of items, please get in touch.”
