PLANS to open a new pool hall and function suite in Barrhead have been approved by council bosses.
This comes after a planning application to make internal alterations to a first-floor unit at 168 Main Street.
The applicant also put forward plans to add new signage to the front and rear of the property.
The unit used to be a former pool and snooker hall, however, it is currently vacant according to the planning application.
Planning for the new pool hall and function suite shows it would include 10 pool tables, one competition room, and a private pool table.
It would also feature the main function suite room, a sports bar, and four dartboards.
The council has now granted the planning permission with several conditions.
One of these is the new facilities' opening hours to be between 9am and 11pm, Monday to Sunday, to protect adjacent properties from noise nuisance.
