Countryside rangers at a Barrhead beauty spot will host a leisurely guided walk later this month.

The family-friendly event at Dams to Darnley Country Park is to be held from 5pm until 7pm on Monday, March 20, and will celebrate the spring equinox.

In a social media post, the event organisers said: “Spring equinox is the representation of new life and new beginnings.

“Come along with the countryside ranger for a calming walk, rejoice in nature and enjoy some traditional bread and cheese with family and friends.”

The group will meet at Darnley Mill car park, at Corselet Road, off Nitshill Road, ahead of the 1.1-mile walk.

Those who go along are advised to dress for the weather conditions, wear walking boots or shoes and bring a torch if they have one.

Dogs on leads will be made welcome.

Advance booking is essential for this event.

Nature lovers can also mark Wednesday, June 21, as an important date in their diary, as this is when Dams to Darnley Country Park will be staging an event to celebrate the summer solstice.
