Organisers of the All About Barrhead Awards have named this year’s finalists.

There are eight categories, with more than 30 finalists on the shortlist.
Battling it out for the Barrhead Star award are Rena McGuire, Ashley McIlvenny, Margaret Reilly and Douglas Yates.

Independent Business of the Year will go to either chloebakescakess, Country Feeds Pet Supplies & Pet Parlour, D Moodie & Co. Funeral Directors or F&M Hairdressing.

The four finalists in the Initiative of the Year category are Bike Hub (Include Me 2 Club), Dunterlie Adult Drama (InCahootz), Hair in Recovery (Harpers Salon) and Jubilee Family Fun Day (Include Me 2 Club).

Hoping to secure the Employee of the Year award are Shannon Chandler (Barrhead Housing Association), Mora Kerr (Dunterlie Resource Centre),

Kirsty Lafferty (Country Feeds) and Callum McColl (Include Me 2 Club).

Young Person of the Year will be either Eryn Fryar, Grace McLaren, Stephen Simmons-Clancy or Michael Williams.

Shortlisted for the National Business of the Year prize are Barrhead Foundry, Post Office (Cross Arthurlie Street), Taylor Wimpey and Tesco Superstore.

The Impact in the Community category features Barrhead Housing Association, Dunterlie Foodshare, East Ren ASN Parents Action Group and Include Me 2 Club.

The final category is Customer Excellence, which is between Alpinos, Bickets, Harpers Salon and Marshall Travel.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at Dalmeny Park House Hotel on Thursday, March 30.

A spokesperson for the organisers said: “We are thrilled to announce your finalists.”

Tickets for the awards ceremony cost £40 each and include a three-course meal.
