Talented members of the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Choir will perform hits from film, stage and the charts at a special event in Barrhead this month.

The charity concert will take place in the sanctuary at Barrhead St Andrew’s Parish Church on Wednesday, March 22, starting at 7pm.

There will be a collection taken and all proceeds from the concert will go to Friends of KNFU – a Scottish charity raising funds in the UK to support the work of King’s Norton Foundation Uganda.

The KNFU’s mission is to “foster inclusive education through enabling underprivileged and vulnerable children and/or those with special needs to attain quality care and education.”

The Reverend Tim Mineard, minister at St Andrew’s Parish Church, said: “We’re delighted to have the NHSGGC choir performing here, especially for such a good cause.

“This should be a great evening at the bargain price of £2 per ticket.

“In addition to the fantastic music, there will be refreshments and a chance to find out some more about the chosen charity, plus the opportunity to win a weekend stay down in beautiful Portpatrick.

“We expect to see the church packed out, so please come nice and early to get the best seats in the house.”

Last year, the choir performed at Bourock Parish Church, raising more than £900 for the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.

Members will be performing there again in June, along with Barrhead Burgh Band.

Barrhead resident and nurse Jean Hepburn, who is the choir’s secretary, is looking forward to performing at both St Andrew’s and Bourock this year.

Urging people to head along to the concert next month, she said: “Just come along for a great night and let your hair down.”
