An East Renfrewshire venue has announced that musician Paul Young has joined its golden anniversary programme line-up.

Paul broke into the big time with number one hit No Parlez four decades ago before following this up with iconic hits including Wherever I Lay My Hat (That’s My Home), Everytime You Go Away and number one album The Secret Of Association.

He will be performing live at Eastwood Park Theatre (EPT), in Giffnock, on April 7.

There will be an opportunity for fans to meet Paul at the theatre, as part of its Meet and Greet ticket offering.

Moira McFadden from EPT told the Barrhead News: "We are very excited to welcome Paul Young to our stage this April as part of our 50th anniversary programme.

“Fans can revel in his classic hits, learn about the stories behind them and even get the chance to meet the singer, as he steps out from behind the lens."

EPT will also welcome Scottish legend Lulu to the stage for a sell-out performance in April, while Marti Pellow takes to the stage in October, following two sell-out shows at the venue last year.

Paul, who is releasing a new record and publishing his memoir, both called Behind The Lens, is performing as part of a UK tour singing hits and telling stories about his incredible career, which includes an appearance at Live Aid and time in his tex-mex band, Los Pacaminos.

Paul said: "I've played some great shows in Glasgow down the years and can't wait to reconnect with fans.

"I'm looking forward to sharing my stories and songs in Behind The Lens and look forward to seeing some friendly faces when I come back to Glasgow."
