AN East Renfrewshire car dealer has received an award for his “passion and dedication” to the business.

Andrew McGlone, director of Eaglesham Garage Ltd, was presented with the Special Appreciation Award by Isuzu UK.

The family-run dealership has been part of the Isuzu network for more than 30 years.

Andrew started out in the motor trade in 1994, at the age of 16, and progressed through the ranks from salesman to director.

After his father retired in 2010, Andrew set about growing the business.

“It gives me great pleasure to say that, since beginning my close work with the Isuzu brand, I’ve seen the network expand into what I can only characterise now as a vast family,” said Andrew.

“Receiving this award is such an honour, as it not only celebrates my history with the brand but also recognises me as a pivotal member of this growing family.”

William Brown, managing director of International Motors UK & Ireland, added: “Andrew has a strong automotive background which provides him with the knowledge and competence of a great leader.

“I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award.”
