A Barrhead salon aims to show it is a cut above the rest by winning a prestigious award.

F&M Hairdressing, in Cross Arthurlie Street, has been named as a finalist in the Regional Salon Scotland category of the 2023 Hair Awards.

The news has been described as a "true testament to a fantastic team," a year on from the sad loss of co-founder Kevin Paul Finnell, who died suddenly last February at the age of 57.

Kevin's husband and salon owner Brian MacMillan told the Barrhead News: "I am delighted that we are finalists for this award."

The Hair magazine contest is consumer-focused and rewards the hard work, dedication and passion staff put into everyday life in salons up and down the country.

The team from F&M were selected as finalists from an entry submitted in December.

They are now up against some of Scotland’s most prestigious salons, with the winner to be announced next month.

Brian added: “It really is a huge honour. To be recognised for our hard work, passion and community spirit means the world to us.”
