East Renfrewshire Council is holding a care jobs fair in Barrhead this month which will see a wide range of care sector employees showcase the job opportunities they have available.

The event will take place on the first floor of the Foundry on Wednesday, January 25 from 3pm to 6pm.

It will provide the chance to meet local and national employers face-to-face and apply directly for vacancies.

Those signed up so far cover social care and care homes, including the East Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership, and they’ll be offering contract and permanent job vacancies.

As well as employers, Work EastRen, the Council’s employability service who are hosting the event, will have staff available to speak to about jobs advice, including tips for interviews, help with CVs and training opportunities.

Councillor Danny Devlin, Convener for Environment and Housing, said: “A career in care is hugely rewarding – you provide a lifeline to vulnerable residents in East Renfrewshire.

"So if you’re looking for a role in this sector, this event is a fantastic opportunity to not only speak with local employers, but also get some tips from Work EastRen staff on how to secure your job.

"We’ve got a great range of employers coming along, so I’d encourage anyone who can, to head along to the Foundry.”
