East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure is launching two new adult art classes starting in the New Year.

Introduction to Portraiture will run at the Fairweather Hall, in Newton Mearns, and Beginners Drawing and Painting, for those who have always wanted to try an art class, will start at Clarkston Hall.

The six-week Introduction to Portraiture class is aimed at those with previous drawing experience and starts on Tuesday, January 10 from 1pm to 3pm and runs until February 14.

Beginners Drawing and Painting will be held on Thursdays from 2pm to 4pm from January 12 until February 16.

Both classes will run alongside the current programme of art classes available, which includes Beginners Watercolour, Mixed Ability Drawing and Painting sessions.

Moira McFadden from East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure said: "Our art classes are delivered by expert tutors, who will guide you through the artistic process, offering guidance on approaches and techniques.

"The Introduction to Portraiture class is an excellent opportunity for those who have always been interested in this genre, or perhaps have been too scared to approach it.

"The classes are designed to help you explore portraiture through a number of methods and exercises, including self-portraits.

"Beginners Drawing and Painting is perfect for those looking to start learning and develop their skills in drawing and painting techniques."

Advanced booking is required for all sessions.
